The Executive Director of the Katsina State Sports Council, Alhaji Abdu Bello Rawayau, has supervised the ongoing Governor’s Cup inter-local government football competition at the Dutsinma Centre.
The competition, which is taking place across designated centres in the state, is aimed at promoting unity, sportsmanship, and togetherness among the participating local governments.
Speaking during the inspection, Alhaji Rawayau expressed delight over the massive turnout of football enthusiasts and the high level of discipline and maturity displayed by the players, describing it as a clear reflection of the objectives of the tournament.
He urged match officials to uphold fairness and transparency in carrying out their duties, stressing the need to maintain the integrity of the competition.
The sports director also commended Governor Dikko Umar Radda for fully sponsoring the tournament and ensuring its smooth organisation without challenges.
In Tuesday’s fixtures, Dutsinma defeated Batsari 1-0, while Safana overpowered Kurfi 5-1.
The Governor’s Cup continues simultaneously in all designated centres according to schedule and rules of the competition.
